Outlook 2007 High CPU Usage

Q

Quasi

On May 14, four Office-related updates were installed on my Vista machine,
and since then Outlook causes the CPU to go up to about 27% / 28% and stay
there, even after Outlook is closed.

Note: There is no mobile device attached to this PC (just in case anybody
was going to ask about that)

The updates installed on 5/14 were:
KB951808
KB950378
KB950114
KB950113

The CPU load stays at that level until the machine is rebooted. This can be
replicated 100% of the time (every time Outlook 2007 is opened, the CPU goes
up to that level and stays there until reboot, even with no desktop apps
running).

Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
