outlook 2003 high cpu

After upgrading outlook XP to outlook 2003 (through upgrading office 2003),
my CPU usage remains high (100%) when outlook.exe is running.

Taske manager indicates outlook.exe use 95% or more cpu.
Kill outlook process will drop high cpu usage.

This was not an issue when outlook 2002(XP) was running in the past.

Configuration:
Windows XP professional with SP2
Office Professional with SP2 installed.
Dell Inspiron 1000 (Mobile Celeron 2.2G, 786M)
Background system application including MS anti spyware & Mcfee VScan (anti
- virus).

Make sure all your add-ins are Outlook 2003 compatible. It is also highly
recommended to recreate your mail profile after an upgrade;

Thanks Roady. I recreated a new email profile following the instruction. Yes,
the 100% CPU issue did go away. However, after linking the new profile with
the old .pst file, I no longer have my contacts address book, calender,
tasks, etc. How do I import those items from the old setting? Or does outlook
profile offer a migration path?

I was a little too early to make a conclusion. The high (100%) CPU issue
still remains. Even with the brand new profile, and linked to the old .pst
file, the CPU usage shoot up to 100% as soon as I start to read emails.

Hope someone from Microsoft's outlook team can see this and file a bug
report. I'd be happy to provide debug info. Looks like that I am not the only
person having the issue.

Jay, I'm having the same issue but it was working fine till yesterday. Only
thing was change was restore of the email to the mailbox for this user. Since
then it been 100% cpu usage.
