Outlook 2007 Fresh Start

I Have Vista and Office 2007. I'm still using winxp pro with office 2003. I
would like to start fresh with Outlook 2007, a new pst file. But, I would
like to be able to access the old pst file from Outlook 2003. What would be
the best way to do this?

Thanks, Pat

Is this on a new machine or the same one? If the same one, move your .pst
file with Outlook closed to an external drive like a USB stick or an
external backup drive.

Create a new .pst file in Outlook 2007 and set it for the default location
for delivery. Then, copy your 2003 .pst file to your User folder and place
it in your Documents folder. Open this file using Outlook's
File->Open->Outlook Data File. You will now have access to the older one as
well as having the 2007 .pst file for your new items.

No, this is on a different computer. I have not started outlook 2007 up
yet
on the new machine. Your answer was very clear, but another question?
Could I
put the old pst file on a networked storage drive and access it the same
way?

You can and most of the time it will work, but it's not supported and any
network glitch can lead to corruption of the PST so keep an extra copy just
in case. Since you're not going to be changing the old one, having a second
copy for safekeeping should suffice.
