Outlook 2007 email graphics get lost

I have Outlook 2007, when I send a message with graphics (Excel charts) they
get lost when opened in Outlook Express 6.0.
 
Are these images embedded or attached?

The recipient may be viewing your messages as plain text, in which
case any font styling and images will not show up (but may come as
attachments).
