Outlook 2007 default font option greyed out

We can't seem to change the font on any messages (new or replies) to default.
The default box is greyed out. I've checked for any lingering gpo's (only one
is set for Office 2007 configurations) and nothing in there is the cause.

Any ideas are appreciated.
