Outlook 2007 crashes when saving a calendar event

J

John C

Whenever I create a simple calendar event and then click on the save and
close button, Outlook crashes. Outlook closes and then reopens. I am then
able to create my calendar entry. I have run the office diagnostics and it
found something and fixed it but the problem keeps happening.

I have Windows XP SP3 and Office 2007 SP2 and all updates and patches. Here
are the two event log entries that I get:

Thank you for your reply. I have Windows XP with SP3, 4gig of memory, Office
2007 with SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) and all other office patches. I have
opened Outlook with the /cleanviews switch, ran office diagnostics which did
not find anything wrong, and also ran a repair install from windows
add/remove. I think I also ran the Mister Fixit on a Microsoft website but I
still have this issue.

As stated in earlier posts, Outlook only crashes after it has been open for
awhile and when I am trying to save a calendar event. It restarts and then I
can create and save a calendar event.

Which mail account type are you using?
Have you scanned your pst-/ost-file for errors already with scanpst.exe?
See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/77

Can you try it with a completely new and empty mail profile? Just create one
for testing purposes, there is no need to destroy the current one.
See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

OK Roady...I have done some testing as you requested and still have the
problem.

1. I ran the scanpst.exe file for Outlook 2007. It found some problems
with the two .pst files and fixed them. I still get the problem.

2. I created a new POP profile and reatteched the original two .pst files
and tried to create a calendar event. I still have the same problem.

3. I compacted both .pst files and still get the error.

4. I deleted the test profile and recreated a new test profile with a new
empty .pst file. I did not attach my original two .pst files. When I
created a calendar event and tried to save it, I got the same problem. These
are the three errors:

Which mail account type are you using?
Have you scanned your pst-/ost-file for errors already with scanpst.exe?
See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/77

Can you try it with a completely new and empty mail profile? Just create one
for testing purposes, there is no need to destroy the current one.
See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

You can try a popular Outlook recovery tool called Advanced Outlook
Repair to repair your PST file. It is a powerful tool to recover
messages, folders and other objects from corrupt or damaged Microsoft
Outlook PST files.

Detailed information about Advanced Outlook Repair can be found at
http://www.datanumen.com/aor/

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aor/aor.exe
Good luck!

John C

Thank you for your reply. I ran the Advanced Outlook Repair tool and it
created new pst files, however, I am required to purchase the program before
it will replace the placeholders with the actual email data. The product
costs $250.00 which I will not buy.

I believe my problem is with the program and not my pst's as I have created
a whole new empty profile and tried to save a calender entry. See previous
posts. Any other ideas?

Do you have problems if you make a new pst file? If not, use the new pst
and move the stuff from the old pst to the new one.

OK Roady...I have done some testing as you requested and still have the
problem.

1. I ran the scanpst.exe file for Outlook 2007. It found some problems
with the two .pst files and fixed them. I still get the problem.

2. I created a new POP profile and reatteched the original two .pst
files
and tried to create a calendar event. I still have the same problem.

3. I compacted both .pst files and still get the error.

4. I deleted the test profile and recreated a new test profile with a
new
empty .pst file. I did not attach my original two .pst files. When I
created a calendar event and tried to save it, I got the same problem.

Which mail account type are you using?
Have you scanned your pst-/ost-file for errors already with
scanpst.exe?
See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/77

Can you try it with a completely new and empty mail profile? Just
create one
for testing purposes, there is no need to destroy the current one.
See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm

Thank you for your reply. I have Windows XP with SP3, 4gig of
memory,
Office
2007 with SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) and all other office patches. I
have
opened Outlook with the /cleanviews switch, ran office diagnostics
which
did
not find anything wrong, and also ran a repair install from windows
add/remove. I think I also ran the Mister Fixit on a Microsoft
website
but I
still have this issue.

As stated in earlier posts, Outlook only crashes after it has been
open
for
awhile and when I am trying to save a calendar event. It restarts
and
then I
can create and save a calendar event.
:

Do you have SP2 installed?
