Suddenly, after months of use, Outlook 2007 crashed and will not re-launch.
Error message says:
"Cannot start Microsoft office outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. the
set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Outlook exited without properly
closing your Outlook data file C:\documents and settings\woner\local
settings\application data\Microsoft\Outlook\\outlook.pst microsoft Office
outlook must be restarted.

It will not restart, get the same error message.
Word, Excel, Access etc all work fine.

Depending on your BETA version run scanpst.exe against the file. Why are you
still using the BETA? At least run the trial of the released version
instead.

Hello Robert,
Thanks for the answer. It seems that I don't have scanpst.exe so no help
there. Is it available for download? I'm running the beta with the update.
As I said, all has been fine till this happened. I actually love the new
system and will buy it. i assume it will load over the existing Beta? Maybe
not with the ganked pst file.
I've been looking for the trial but can't seem to find it.

More info; I was able to track down the "scanpst.exe" application but when I
run it there is no pst file to run against. I also tried the Microsoft
Office Application Recovery application on the menue but it says that "the
product must be installed to use this tool" Odd, it is installed and the
modules other than Outlook are working fine.
