Outlook 2007 BCM & SQL Server 2005

From what I gather, BCM uses a local instance of SQL Server 2005 Express to
store the Database, would it be possible to allow the database to stored
off-machine on a regular SQL Server 2005 Std/Ent Database as well for those
who are still in a small business environment and as an affordable
alternative to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution??

BCM v3 uses Xpress, before that MSDE.

Search this newsgroup for all the pros/cons and tips/tricks of hosting
BCM on another machine with sql server. It can be made to work with BCM
v2 but it is not supported.

BCM v3 appears to support remote hosting.
