Outlook 2007 and POP/SMTP

I have Outlook 2007 and am trying to set up my POP/SMTP account. I have done
everything my host has told me to do and still am not able to send/receive.
Says POP server unable to connect. I have disabled my Firewall and my
Anti-virus and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions!!! My host is unable
to help at this point. I was able to get it to work at my office on Windows
XP (Outlook 2003), but not at home on Outlook 2007/Vista.

I get similar problems since upgrading from Outlook 2003 to 2007 - sometimes
send/receive works, sometimes fails as if internet connection not working -
even though IE accesses net fine. Reboot sometimes helps...

Any input most welcome!

Jennifer,

Could you tell me what POP account you are trying to conect? Are you trying
to connect to your ISPs server to send/receive email, Gmail??

There can be several reasons why it is not connecting, but if you post the
server (comcast, gmail, msn, etc...) you are working with I can help you
better.

I updated from 2003 to 2007 last week also. It connects to 3 of my 4
accounts - but the one account which is exactly all the same information - it
tells me that the encrpyted connection is not available? What is the heck is
that? I've deleted the account, deleted the profile, everything and this one
account will still not receive. They are all Roadrunner email accounts -
@austin.rr.com.
HELP!!!
