Currently using Office 2000 professional.

Do not use Outlook 2000 - use Outlook Express.

Now I plan to install Outlook 2007.

Question - Will I run into problems with:
1) having Outlook 2000, which is not used for mail?
2) the fact that I use Outlook Express for mail?

Will the address book import into contacts, when I install?

thx

Thanks for the reply

What I want to do, is use Outlook 2007 for mail - now I am using Outlook
Express.

As far as Word, Excel .... etc. The user does not want to change to 2007.

As you probably know Office 2003 is not available.

I just thought (killing two birds with one stone) If I could get them to use
Outlook 2007, with all it's features i.e. Junk E-mail and stopt using
Outlook Express... I am far ahead of the game!

My one concern is wheter or not the address book will import into Outlook
2007 ok

I do plan on leaving Outlook 2000 on the system - not being used!

Thx again Ben

Outlook 2000 will have to be uninstalled in order for Outlook 2007 to be
installed.

: Out of curiosity - why will you keep Outlook 2000 if you install Outlook
: 2007? Why not use Outlook 2007 for mail?
:
: You can certainly install Outlook 2007 and use Outlook Express for mail if
: you wish.

you need to uninstall outlook 2000 to install outlook 2007. You'll lose a
lost of functionality between the office apps and its not recommended to
upgrade just outlook because of this.

Thx again

You do NOT, however, want Outlook to import any mail from Outlook Express.
Allowing it to do that is likely to alter all your mesages so that they
appear to have been received at the time of import rather than when they
were actually received. Instead, you'll want to export from within Outlook
Express after you have installed and configured Outlook.
