Use Outlook 2000, but Outlook Express Error

I never use Outlook Express. I use only Outlook 2000, but I am getting an
Outlook Express error: "The Address Book failed to load. Outlook Express is
incorrectly configured, please re-install." In spite of that, my address
book in Outlook 2000 opens normally after I close the error message. How do
I get rid of the error message?

I am using XP HE, SP3 with all available updates. This has been happening
since I did a restore recently from an Acronis image. Everything else has
been working fine since restoring from the image.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am using Internet Mail Only mode. The image
was less than two months old.

Ok. You get that error because you are using the WAB from OE.

Have you looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/269777 (wab is read only)
or http://support.microsoft.com/kb/191946 (location of pst has changed).

Thank you. A search for "*.wab" indicated no results. I did find
"outlook.pst" at c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. There is also a much smaller "archive.pst".
Neither of those files is read only. Everything I have read applies to
older operating systems, not XP.

The wab is not in the outlook folder - offhand, I'm not sure where it is
supposed to be - http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm says there isn't one
when outlook is set to share contacts (as it is with IMO mode). Maybe
something at that page will get you pointed in the right direction though or
you may need to register the wab.exe file.

I just tried using Outlook Express. My emails, address book, newsgroups,
etc., were there when I opened it. I changed it to my default and
everything worked normally without any error messages. When I returned to
Outlook and changed it back to my default, I received the error message
again. Now,I am back in Outlook Express where I am writing this now and
receiving no error message.
