What anti-virus program is compatable with Outlook 2003 & Sympatico.ca? I had
to turn off antivirus protection incoming & outgoing in order to be able to
send email. Now I have limited protection.

As long as you have active, up-to-date, anti-virus software running,
you are fully protected from viruses. Allowing separate scanning of
incoming and outgoing mail is unnecessary and not recommended.

I think you should try just scanning incoming mail, not outgoing. Every virus
I've ever received came in an email. Usually it is the outgoing email scanner
that causes the problems.

I personally use Symantec, have used it since it was 1.2 for DOS. The only
problems I have encountered for scanning Email is if I have a large
attachment. As Mary said, incoming scan is HIGHLY recommended since most
virus are gotten when emails are incoming. I am too lazy to turn off
outgoing scanning, but unless you get a virus, outgoing scanning really isn't
necessary.

Even scanning incoming mail is an unnecessary waste of time. As SgtRich
said, as long as your AV program's real-time scanner is up to date, scanning
incoming mail isn't needed.
