Outlook 2003 won't reopen until computer shutdown

When I close Outlook 2003, it shuts down, but I am unable to reopen it again
until I have restarted my computer. It attempts to open, but quickly moves
to 'program not responding' mode. Any ideas? (I'm running XP Pro w/SP2 on a
Dell Inspiron 8600.)

When you close Outlook, go to task manager & see if outlook.exe is still
running in the process tab. If it is & you stop it, does OL work?

Hi!
I had the same thing happening. In my case, the problem ended up being that
I was using WinFax version 10.2. This is a known issue, when running that
version of WinFax in the background, and using Outlook 2003. The problem has
been fixed in WinFax version 10.3. Anyway, I fixed the problem by stopping
WinFax from loading with Windows. After that, everything is working as it
should, including the WinFax.
I hope that this helps in some way.
Happy Holidays!
