outlook 2003 will not connect to exchange 5.5

I am trying to set up an Outlook 2003 client on a XP SP2 machine which
should connect to an Exchange 5.5 server.

When I try to configure outlook on the client, I receive the message..."the
exchange server is unavailable."

I can ping the Exchange 5.5 server and browse the network so I know there is
connectivity.

I cannot configure or setup the Outlook 2003 client without being able to
contact the exchange 5.5 server. Each computer is totally updated. Several
identical machines are having a similar connectivity problems when
"Send/Receive" is performed. Outlook hangs up and takes 10 minutes just to
compete Send/Receive.

PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

I am having the same problem. I can not confirm my Exchange Mailbox either.

Please help.
