How can I stop the toolbars in Outlook 2003 from resetting when I restart the
programme?

Which toolbars? How are they named? In what way are they resetted? Missing
buttons, not displaying, changed position, etc...

Thanks for responding so quickly; the changes I make (using 'default style'
to remove text, adding the 'empty deleted items folder' button, etc.) do not
reappear when the programme is restarted. Can I do anything to stop it
happening?

Try a hard reset on the toolbar by renaming outcmd.dat to .old

Your suggested fix did not achieve what I want. However, I was trying to
make changes to the Norton toolbar but, through their online support, I have
established that their toolbar will not accept the permanent changes I want
to make. I have suggested to them that they should consider modifying their
tollbar to enable it to accept cosmetic changes.

I have now inserted the 'empty deleted items folder' button in another
toolbar and will have to put up with the Norton toolbar as it is.

Thank you for your assistance.
