Everything has been working fine until 24 hours ago when my email from SBC
times out on receive...It sends fine but won't receive...I have removed the
account and reinstalled...Same problem...All other connections work
fine...My laptop works fine here also...Although that is using a Wi-Fi
connection...Not sure what to do next...Thanks in advance...GG

Can you access the account directly?

If you have an antivirus program installed that scans email, may want to
try turning that off to see if it's interfering with the receiving of mail.

I can access it directly and I tried your suggestion..Sadly I now see that
It won't send or receive???...Additionally restore will not work...Not sure
what to try next...Tried to run system recovery console but it asks for a
password which I never set...Help...GG

Garry, I don't think there's anything wrong with your Windows setups so
there's no need for recovery console.

Since you can access the account directly (via SBC's web interface), you
know their server is up and running. The next place to look is at the
settings for the email account. Double check the SBC support pages for
directions on setting up Outlook 2003. Pay special attention to the POP3
and SMTP entries that they require. And the format of username/password. On
almost all email servers, the password is case sensitive. In some cases,
the user name is too.

I just setup an email program in another operating system the other night
for an account that I've had for 10 years. After that long, I know the
email settings by heart but still mistyped the outgoing server 3 times. Was
sure something was wrong somewhere else until I finally noticed my error.
Once everything was entered correctly, the account worked perfectly.
