Fire Wall Problems

Hi, new too this so don't know if it's in the right place!!

Just had the latest windows update this evening 08/04/07 and since
restarting my laptop it won't log onto the internet unless I use the windows
fire wall. The laptop is on a wireless network running XP home edition and
Panda Platinum 2006 with true prevent. I have never use the windows firewall
due to a conflict with the Windows fire wall. I have always use the full
Panda product and everything was working fine until the update. In the Panda
setting screen everything is saying O.K except Wi-Fi connections,
applications are disabled. If I enable this it stops the internet connection.

Any Ideas please?????? and which fire wall is best too use?????

Double check to see that the Windows (Microsoft's) Firewall is off
(disabled) and use Panda's.

Hi, thanks for the reply, Panda prompts about switching off Windows firewall
due to a conflict. A box comes up to automatically switch off Windows
firewall and use Panda, I've done this and still have the same problem, I
have also done this manually and it still doesn't work.

My experience with Panda has been that it's best uninstalled and replaced
with anything else - even Norton is less problematic.

Thanks for the answers, all sorted now. Ended up going into the settings and
repropergating the conection list as the internet explorer wasn't showing a
connection in the list after the windows update.
