Outlook 2003 synch problem

I have just had my PC upgraded to Outlook 2003. I synch with a handheld PC
using MS ActiveSync. After the new Outlook installation, the synch is
reporting 4 unresolved Calendar items. Each of the problem Calendar items
involves an employee that has now left the company ,and I assume no longer
exists on the Exchange Server. 3 instances involve the same person. For
both the “problem†contacts there are many other Calendar items that do not
give the same problem. Following the “Resolve Items†option from the
ActiveSync window leads to a dialog box titled “Check Namesâ€. This states
“MS Office Outlook does not recognise firstname surname†Taking the option
“New Contact†creates a contact for the “missing†name, but this still does
not allow a successful synch.

Can anyone suggest a solution, or a path towards one ?

This doesn't address your question, but you should consider ActiveSync 4.5

Open the appintment in Outlook and remove the offending attendee from the
meeting.
 
Thanks for the response. However, I have many more appointments that contain
the "offending attendee" than I have synch errors to resolve. Is there any
way I can identify which of the appointments is leading to the error ?

In some cases, I've just substituted my own contact record with the "Show
more names" button.
