I have accounts on both an Exchange Server and an IMAP server. I
cannot get the SPAM tools to work with the IMAP Server at all. I have
my IMAP account set to download the full text of each email
automatically. But I have also tried forcing Outlook to download and
process messages by hand, with no luck there, either.
I think the problem might be that Outlook has not created a Junk Mail
folder on my IMAP server for some reason. My Exchange Server account
has one and the filter works there. But my IMAP server only allows me
to create folders "underneath" my Inbox, not in the root area like the
Exchange Server make the Calendar, Contacts, Junk Email, and Notes
folders. I hope that made sense. I have used the mailer that comes
with Mozilla on the same account and it has no problem creating a Junk
mail folder underneath the Inbox.
Here's a diagram
+ Exchange
+ Drafts
+ Inbox
+ Junk E-mail
+ Outbox
+ IMAP
+ Inbox
+ I can only make folders here
+ Mozilla made a Junk folder here
+ public
I also have no Personal Folders set up with Outlook 2003.
Anyone have some insight as to why Outlook doesn't perform Junk Mail
analysis on my IMAP account?
Thanks,
