Outlook 2003, small icon next to the clock

I have a small icon in my taskbar when I open Outlook 2003. When I close
Outlook, it's still there, I dont want it! How do I get rid of it?
 
The icon should go away if Outlook closed. Do you have any 3rd party
applications installed (e.g. WinFax, ActiveSync, .etc) that sync, use, or
otherwise integrate with Outlook that could cause it to stay resident in
memory after selecting File > Exit?
