Outlook 2003 shuts down when end user clicks from her inbox to another inbox
in her folder list. This is an inconsistant problem. She has SP1 and
outlook is not set to "Hide when Minimized". I have removed her outlook
profile and also uninstalled and re-installed outlook with no success in
fixing the issue.

Are you able to check event logs, as soon as the err occurs, or identify any
errs that coincide with OL closing?

I did find outlook errors in the application event viewer that coincide.
Here is the error: Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.6353.0,
stamp 408f2937, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp
411096b4, debug? 0, fault address 0x0000eddc. Microsoft does not provide any
answers when I click on the link in the event viewer error.

As a first step, perhaps run the sys file checker.
Also run a full AV, & malaware scan with at least MS Defender, SpyBot &
Adaware

Thanks for all your help. I took the steps listed below but am still having
the issue. This time I did verifiy the timing on this error; Faulting
application outlook.exe, version 11.0.6353.0, stamp 408f2937, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp 411096b4, debug? 0, fault address
0x0000eddc. Received appication event error right after we encountered the
problem and outlook shut down. Re-image??

Looking at various reports of this error there doesnt seem to be a
definative cure, in your case being more difficult as it is intermittant.
Some of the suggestions that work for some users being:
1) Disable / uninstall any plugins
2) Create a new profile - I guess also runing scanpst.exe on the pst,
several times, would'nt do any harm
3) MS reports of a bug, affecting *some users*, fixed by a winxp sp
Sorry I cannot offer anything better

Thank you. I have tried pretty much everything else except renaming the
outcmd.dat. I have changed the name of the file and will let you know if
that works.
