OUTLOOK 2003 short cut bar

i understand that the outlook short cut bar has been removed from outlook 2003.
In outloot 2000 i was able to place "file system" shortuts in short cut bar.
This would then allow me to open folders from my c drive in outlook and sort
by catagory. Is this possibly to be configured in outlook 2003? to open
folders from c drive in outlook? so it can be sorted by outlook custom views?

I don't know of any workaround. The only reason I can find that this feature
was discontinued in Outlook 2003 is that it appeared that relatively few
people were using it or really needed it.

The Outlook Bar has moved in Outlook 2003 to the Shortcuts navigation pane. YOu can still drag a file system shortcut to it, but it will open the file system folder in Windows Explorer, not in Outlook. Outlook no longer provides a viewer for file folders.

are you sure there is no way of doing this? replicating what used to be done
in outlook 2000? with viewing file system from short cut bar? is there a work
around? third party add ins? the oultook 2000 feature of exploring your files
with in outlook is very useful. is there any reason why Microsoft have
removed this?
