Outlook 2003 Rules

I have recently upgraded from OL2000 to OL2003. I have several rules that I use to sort incoming email. Unfortunately after upgrading some of the rules are being deactivated because there is not enough space on the Exchange Server 2000. This really anoying and causing me to spend a great deal of time manually sorting the incoming emails.

I have read that the Exchange server will only support 32KB storage for rules, but I do not really care if the Server has a copy of the rules or not. In fact I'd prefer that the rules are stored locally on my machine.

I think it would be a good idea that the administrator has the ability to change the amount of space each user has to store rules on the exchange server. I also belive that the user should have the ability to store the rules on the machine when using a pst file to store emails.

Any workarounds would be greatly appreciated?

Some rules are server-side by nature while others can exist as client-side
rules. See http://www.slipstick.com/rules/serverbased.htm for a
comparison -- perhaps it will help you determine which rules you can keep
locally and which must reside on the server. As for the suggestions for
increasing server space for rules, send them to (e-mail address removed) with
Outlook and/or Exchange in the subject line.
