Outlook 2003 questions

I purchased Office 2003 and have a couple question at this time on Outlook
2003 before I install Office 2003 in Windows XP Home Edition SP1:

1. Currently I have Office 2000 installed. What do I need to backup in
Outlook 2000 to make sure all messages, contants, notes, etc. and all
account settings? I will need to import all of this into Outlook 2003.

2. In Outlook 2003 I prefer the message view (Subject, From, Date, etc.) in
a certain arragement. When I set this view for the Inbox, is there a way to
apply this view to any existing and new mail folders? In Outlook 2000 I
woudl click View - Current View - Customize Current View - Fields to adjust
the layout.

Thanks.

If you perform an in-place upgrade, all of your settings will carry over
without having to import anything. Outlook will use the prior .pst file and
all of your settings.

As for the views, some things have changed but you should be able to find
how to customize your views. If not, then post back.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to the
Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted w/out

How do I make all newly created and existing mail folders to use my
preferred view settings by default?

I have Windows XP Home Edition and tried to install
Office Professional Edition 2003 which includes Outlook.
Everything works fine except Outlook. I can't get it to
properly dial in to my MSN.Com account. It gives me a
user/passwork error message #691. There is a some kind of
bug with the POP3 assignment code and they tried to band-
aide me with a HTTP connection. This doesn't work either.
I am very frustrated with this - can't get any help from
MS. I would advise you to stay with your present Outlook
until this is worked out.
