I uninstalled Office 2003 from my C: Drive to my D: drive (partition). Now
whenever I try to reinstall Outlook 2003 PST Backup it sees a previous
installation that doesn't exist. I'm sure it is something in the Registry.
Can someone tell me how to clear this, so that I can reinstall the PST backup.

Thanks for the reply. The response allowed me to check that I had installed
the backup will Logged On as administrator. I was able to go into ADD/REMOVE
Programs and delete the old installation. I then Logged ON my normal way and
was able to ReInstall the program.

Thanks again.

Hello Robert

I noted your solution to Dave E's problem. My problem is similar in that I
cannot uninstall Outlook Personal Folders backup to install the correct
version. My computer acts as if I already have Outlook Personal Folders
installed (that may be the case) but the program is non-functional I have
downloaded PFBackup.exe in a separate folder to install the program which
asks me to remove the existing program from the Add/Remove Software folder
from my Control Panel. No such program exists in this folder. My addins is
located at E:\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\ADDINS The files in this sub folder
aree DLGSETP.ECF, DUMPSTER.ECF, FAXEXT.ECF, MSOSEC.DLL, MSOSEC.XML,
MSSPC.ECF, MSCVCR71.DLL, OUTLOADR.DLL, outbak.dll, OUTEX2.ECF, OUTEX.ECF,
OUTLVBA.DLL, PMAILEXT.ECF & SCRPTXRTN.ECF

I have read See http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/backupaddin.htm
as you suggested to DaveE but find that it is not very helpful. If memory
serves me correctly I had Outlook Backup functioning when previously running
Office 2000 Professional but I now run Office 2003 Professional using
previous settings but a non-functinal backup (addin?)

Any assistance will be appreciated.

It appears that you have it installed already for Outlook 2003; outbak.dll
is installed. So bullet number 3 in the guide should be your answer. What
happens when you try that one?

Fixed VMT A quick - it appears that the version I am using may be an older
one viz (the one that I used with 2000) I was wondering if there was a newer
one for use with 2003 with more "bells and whistles". If so how do uninstall
the older one and install the new one?
Cheers

There is no new functionality. You can check the dll version if it is the
same as being offered for download now.
You might want to doublecheck your Add/Remove Programs to see if it listed.
Otherwise locate its installation registration in;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
