Outlook 2003 opens and closes instataneously

well first I opened it and it said that my personal folders were not closed
properly and that it need to scan it.
did that, opened then I deleted a message and it closed.
I ran scanpst.exe it found errors and fixed them, I opened outlook and it
closed again.
I created a second test profile and ran DETECT AND REPAIR, it all checked
out fine.
SO..................

I cannot open outlook and work, all it does is open and close in an
eyeblink, anyone got any ideas that can please help.
 
You may have to run scanpst repeatedly until all the errors are cleared up.
Have you given this a try?
Also, check your application event viewer for any office related errors.
Post the Event ID and source.
 
Thanks Orland for your suggestion, I ended up creating a new profile and
importing the old PST data and its working fine. Not sure why this happened,
but the quickest fix was to create a new profile. BTW the PST file was 1.1GB
so the OST crop tool would not work on this either, but also a possible
solution if it was over 2gb

Unless you create a non-unicode PST, which you can still do in Outlook 2003.
Heck, I think you can still do it in 2k7, can't you?
 
I haven't tried 2007 yet, I'm waiting for now. I'm using 2000 and 2003 on two
different machines in two completely different environments.
