Outlook 2003 & MSN Mail

John

I have tried (and failed) to get my @msn.com mail account to work properly in
Outlook 2003. There are many different sets of instructions, the one bugaboo
I have now is with the outgoing mail server (SMTP). I have it set to 587,
and it does not connect to the outgoing server. Please help!

what error do you get? Are you authenticating with the outgoing server?

from http://www.slipstick.com/problems/msn_denied.asp:
· In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) box, type 587.
· Under both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3), select the
‘requires secure connection (SSL)’ check box. In Outlook 2007, choose Auto;
use SSL for Outlook 2003
