Outlook 2003 msg attachment problems

Tom Hill

I can not open any attachment in Outlook 2003 with an .MSG extention, when
sent to me inside another email. This is true on all three computors I have,
and has been going on for about 6 months. I have XP Profressional, and Office
2003.

I can open MSG attachments when I download the same email into Outlook
Express and click the attachment, but not from within Outlook 2003, my
preferred email program. I have tried everything from resetting Outlook by
going through the detech and repair to formatting the hard drive and
re-installing evrything from scratch. No luck. I see a solution for a similar
problem (Google) for Outlook 2007, which does not seem to apply to 2003,
since the instructions don't seem to apply. I don't think Google is the
problem, since it showed up prior to my loading Google back onto the machine
during the reinstall process.

Any thoughts would be most welcome.

Try uninstalling Google Search and see what happens. Or update to 5.6.0711.24354
or greater.

The reasons why instructions are different for Outlook 2007 are that the
instructions are different.
