Outlook 2003 - Mail File not closed properly

When I open Outlook 2003 I am frequently told that my mail file was not closed properly during my last session. I close outlook with the X in the corner each time, and never receive an error or frozen screen. The program appears to close fine. Am I missing something

In case it helps, I use Exchange so the file in question is an OST

did you ever get an answer? My dad has the same problem only everything freezes, we can't send/receive. etc
