Outlook 2003, exchange server and receiving mail instantly??

Hello all,

Just got a new system at work that has outlook 2003. I used outlook
2000 before.

In my outlook 2000, when the exchange server would receive a message
it would automatically pop into my inbox.

In this outlook 2003 it does not automatically pop in until I either
close the program and start it again or I go into the sent items
folder and then when I go back to the inbox it pops in, or if I goto
the deleted items and then back into the inbox it pops in when I come
back to the inbox.

How can I make it so it is like the Outlook 2000 I am used to where
new mail will come in instantly no matter what folder I am in.

thanks

Outlook 2003 should do this as well with the side note that with Cached
Exchange mode it could take up to 60 seconds for a message arrives to
minimize network traffic.

If messages only arrives by restarting Outlook or switching folders your
firewall might be configured wrong and most likely blocks UDP messages for
Outlook.
