Outlook 2003 crashes downloading mail

Outlook will crash during downloading of messages from
the server. Some or all messages will download completely
but outlook will always crash. None can be opened because
of the crash. Similiar to a corrupted message download.
Workaround has been to terminate outlook with Task
Manager and clean messages off server using webmail.
Restart Outlook and everything is fine.

Can you tell me how big your pst-file is?

To locate your pst-file;
Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename

Alright start by running scanpst.exe against your pst-file and see if it
comes up with any errors.

If the problem still persists recreate (do not copy) your mail profile in
Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...
