Outlook 2003 convert .pst folders to Outlook 2002

My laptop came with Office 2003 Standard Ed. but at work my wordmerge files,
etc. work with Office XP 2002. I was told to uninstall Office 2003 and
install Office XP 2002 but when I try to import my Outlook Personal Folder
Files into Outlook XP 2002 I get an error message that the version is not
compatible. Is there any way to work around this?

You received very bad advice.
You can only create a PST file compatible with earlier versions while still
using Outlook 2003. File > New > Outlook Data File... Outlook 97-2002.
There was no need to change Outlook versions. You could simply have created
and used a PST file in the earlier format. Changing the Outlook version will
make Outlook incompatible with the rest of your Office 2003 Suite.
