Outlook 2003 contacts folder limitations

Hi guys,

I have a customer who is creating a new distribution list for x amount
of recipients. They are able to use this dist list, but after they
close Outlook and re-open it, the list is gone. It is NOT in deleted
items, or any other folder. For all intents and purposes, its missing.

The contacts folder currently has a total of 982 contacts and dist
lists (which is a shared account)

This new dist list is putting the contacts folder over 1000 items...
could this be restricting the folder??

My colleague has given himself full mailbox access to this shared
inbox, and can replicate the problem easily... but we're unable to
find any restrictions having scoured google.

I'm afraid that I do not have much more info, as I have taken this
call from a team member who is off sick, and I only really have this
info to go on...

If anyone knows of any restrictions, I would really appreciate it if
you could let me in on them ;-)

Many thanks,

Alex

I have managed to dig the answer up myself.

For anyone with similar issues, here is a link to a KB artice:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238569/en-us

It explains about the size restrictions, and how Outlook contacts
work, i.e. the more info per contact, the less total contacts you can
store... etc.

There is an app called DL Manager which allows you to manage larger
lists.

Cheers guys
