outlook 2003 conflict with outlook 2007

I have recently installed office 2007 enterprise but outlook 2003 is still
present (according to the diagnostics program) which is conflicting with the
current version. Outlook 2003 does not appear in the control panel
add/remove programs list therefore has anyone any suggestions how i might
resolve this problem?
 
A workaround might be to uninstall Office 2007. reinstall Office 2003 then
uninstall it and reinstall Office 2007.
 
I tried to re-install office 2003 previously but the disc must be corrupted
because the program refused to install.
 
that the only way I can really think of to get something into Add/Remove to
be able to uninstall it completely.
