Outlook 2003 Cached Exchange Mode Crash Loop

V

VicKat

Hi,

We are running Exchange 5.5 SP4 in the backend. We have
several Outlook 2003 client configured. If we are turning
the "Cached Exchange Mode" on we are getting in a Outlook
starts in crash mode in the loop.

While Outlook 2003 starts it is a "Microsoft Office
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry the inconvenience." dialog box comes up in the
loop. After you click either "Send Error Report" or
the "Don't Send" button Outlook tries to open again and
you getting the same dialog box in the loop. Only way to
stop this loop is by using the task manager and
individually stopping Outlook and the dialog box by
ending them manually. Outlook is been installed as part
of Office 2003 and it has SP1 installed with all the up
to date fixes. Again we have Exchange 5.5 with SP4.

Any advice will help.

There are post-SP4 hotfixes that you should apply to an Exchange 5.5 server
before attempting to use it with Outlook 2003. See the bottom of the page at
www.slipstick.com for references.
