Outlook 2003 Archiving doesn't work

Hi,

I have a user that when she chooses to archive her emails to a local .pst,
the archive feature doesn't work. I checked her settings and she does have
emails that would fall into the archiving threshold. In the bottom right of
Outlook there is the message "archiving email" but no emails fall into her
pst.

I saw a KB article saying that the archiving feature is unavailable if the
users mailbox is over the limit. However, this does not apply. Any ideas on
what it can be?

Archiving doesn't work on the Received dat of a message. It works on the
Modified date, which is not usually shown. Add the Modified column to the
header line (using Field Chooser) and you'll see that the Modified dates of
the items are more recent that the archiving date.
 
Bingo! that was it. Last week I imported a bunch of old emails into her
mailbox from a pst. So the modified date is last weeks date not the received
date so that explains why the archive didn't happen.
 
Thanks so much. That was the perfect answer. I had migrated servers and all mail prior to the migration date received a new creation date.
