Outlook 2003 and Offline File Problem

Daniel

I just got my first copy of Office 2003 and installed it
on a new PC. I moved forward to setup Exchange on this
users PC, and because many things were new, I was looking
through each tab. I know that you are never suppose to
setup an offline file before syncronizing the first time,
but I did click the OFFLINE FILE button in Outlook 2003.
I then hit OK, and it asked me if I wanted to save the
offline file, and I thought OOPS, and then cancelled, but
after I tried to setup the email account, I was given the
error that stated roughly:

Unable to open your default email folders. You must
first do a send and receive before you try to syncronize
your offline folder.

I do not know how to get this back to normal. I have
tried several things ranging from logging off of the
domain account and logging on locally, deleting the
domain folder under doc&settings, and logging back on as
the domain account to going back and forth with the
settings within outlook to try to turn it off... My new
error is this:

Unable to open your default email folders. The file
C:\Documents and Settings\sghampton\local
settings\Application Data\Outlook\outlook.ost is not an
offline folder file

If I delete the file, the profile, and open outlook
again, and then setup the exchange account again I get
this error:

Unable to open your default email folders. The Microsoft
Exchange Server Computer is not available. Either there
are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server
Computer is down for maintenance.

....Which is bull because everyone else is working fine on
Exchange!!!

Can anyone PLEASE help!!!!!!

Thanks,

Daniel

Control panel, mail applet... edit the profile properties to either not use
cached mode or to not use and offline store.

Creating a new profile should work as well... are you using the FQDN or the
NetBios name?

I have fixed the problem...

We have Exchange 5.5 and I dont know if this is why, but
to make the latest error go away, which was:

Unable to open your default email folders. The Microsoft
Exchange Server Computer is not available. Either there
are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server
Computer is down for maintenance.

I had to change the login security FROM Kerberos/NTLM to
standard NTLM.

Thanks for the help!
