I have a new computer with outlook 2003. When I go into the advanced find and
want to search folders, I have the search subfolder box checked, however, it
does not check any subfolders and therefore does not search them. The only
way I can search a folder is to physically check it, which is way too time
consuiming when you have over 50 folders.

Are you searching folders within one pst or several pst's (and Exchange
public folders)? Advanced find works on one pst or public folder at a time.

I am searching on (1) .pst file that is stored locally on my hard drive.

it should work then... try scanpst on the pst (start menu, run, type scanpst
and follow the directions).

I ran scanpst.exe and it did find some errors and repaired them, however, I
am still having the same problems with advanced find.

Hi Diane,

This problem of not able to search subfolder of a public folder applies to
all version of Outlook? Is there a way to solve this, or any third party
solution??

Thanks.

the limitation applies to all current versions of outlook. I believe these
two (and several others) will search all message stores at once.

Hi Diane,

Thank you for a timely reply. I will test out the two applications and see
which one is more useful for my office.
