Outlook 2003 -> 2007 migration problems

I carry my pst on a flash drive. The pst was created by Outlook 2003 at home.

I plugged in my flash on a machine with Outlook 2007 and it automatically
migrated my psts to the new format.

I'm back home. I tried opening pst with OL03. At first it could not find the
files. I backup up. Then I ran scanpst. the file pst appears to be readable,
but I have lost over 14 days of work.

can you help?

Not without a more accurate and complete description of what you actually
did. There is far more to this story than you managed to divulge. What you
claim does not happen. Plugging in a flash drive that contains a PST file
will not automatically do anything.
The correct ways to migrate Outlook data have been posted here countless
times. Suggest reading those posts.

You are correct. I started Outlook. I box appeared indicating that my files
were being migrated. As I recall there were actually three steps to the
migration. There was no cancel button. What else will help? This migration
was accidental.

I am using P.I. Protector on my flash which allows me to start Outlook from
the dialog and Outlook is "automatically" directed to use the set of PSTs on
my flash drive.

Thank you.

"Automatic" migration only occurs in first run scenario and could not use
files on a flash drive. If you need the data from this flash drive, copy the
PST file to a hard drive, remove its read only attribute, then open the file
in Outlook.
