Outlook 2002 w/ POP3: Check for new messages at startup?

B

Bert Hyman

A friend uses MSN as her ISP and uses an antique copy of Outlook 2002 as
her email client.

She was recently required to re-configure her email to read from POP3
and send via SMTP from some other scheme that MSN is now discontinuing.

She was able to get the config changes done, but it now doesn't check
for new email when she starts the program.

I suppose if I visited and spend enough time wandering around the menus,
I'd eventually stumble on the setting, but maybe somebody with a long
memory could tell me where to find that setting.

Along those same lines, I assume there's a setting for checking for new
mail periodically; where's that found?

In the meantime, the manual check for new messages is working OK.

try tools, options, mail setup tab for send immediately when connected and
the send button beside the send immediately option to configure it to check
on schedule.
