Outlook 2002 unable to send

Cannot send with either GMail or Yahoo accounts. The error I am getting is:

0x8004210B: The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending
(SMTP) server.

Outgoing server set up correctly, ports also set up correctly.

We crashed the computer and reinstalled Professional, prior version of
Outlook worked fine.
 
This is a laptop on a wireless network. We've had a bit of trouble with the
wireless too, but I think we got that fixed.
