Outlook Mail Unable to Send - Outlook Express OK?????

J

JRS

Hi

I have a pc with Windows 2000 Pro, Office 2003. We were having issues with
sending mail through Outlook and could not get anything to work, so I wiped
the OS last night, reinstalled Windows and Office (And all updates). I can
receive mail using Outlook, but cannot send. Mail sits in the outbox.

Funny thing is that if I setup Outlok Express with the same account settings
everything works fine. Mail send and receives with no issues. I do receive
the following error in Outlook: 0x8004210B Operation time out waiting for a
response from SMTP server.

HELP!!

Have you tried removing & readding the mail account? Also, if necessary you
might want to recreate your mail profile

In addition to the other suggestions, you could try importing the aworking
account from Outlook Express. In Outlook, click File>Import and
Export>Import Internet Mail Account Settings.
