Outlook 2002 not keeping message rules correctly.

Outlook 2002 (Office XP Pro w/SP3 and all the updates)

I have multiple email accounts. I use message rules to move the mail from
certain accounts to specific folders, keeping only my default account in my
inbox.

I make the rules from the "Start with a blank rule" and they read:

"Apply this rule after the message arrives the '(e-mail address removed)' account
move it to the 'username' folder."
"Apply this rule after the message arrives the '(e-mail address removed)'
account move it to the 'username2' folder."

etc...

After I close the rules window, the specified email account changes in all
the rules to the one account. Instead of moving messages it makes multiple
copies of new messages from the one account and puts them in all the folders
and leaves messages in the inbox.

Rules based on specific email address seem to work normally.

Did you add the "stop processing more rules" condition to each of these
rules?

I can not find a "stop processing more rules" condition.

What happend was that I made 5 rules that all went something on the order of:
Rule 1: If from account A move to folder a
Rule 2: If from account B move to folder b
Rule 3: If from account C move to folder c
Rule 4: If from account D move to folder d
Rule 5: If from account E move to folder e.

When I close the rules wizard and re-open it, I find that all the rules have
changed to:
Rule 1: If from account A move to folder a
Rule 2: If from account A move to folder b
Rule 3: If from account A move to folder c
Rule 4: If from account A move to folder d
Rule 5: If from account A move to folder e

Everything else stays the same, but the "specified account " changes.

Rules based on sender email address have stayed correct.

It is an option at the bottom of the actions list.

I found the option. Checking it made absoutely no difference.

You do not seem to be getting the gist of my problem. The problem is NOT
that outlook is making multiple copies of moved emails. The problem is that
Outlook does not keep the rules as made.

Here is what I did ...

I opened Toos\Rules Wizard.
I did New\Start from a blank rule\check messages when they arrive
I selected through the specified account
I specefied "(e-mail address removed)" and clicked next.
I selected "move to the sepcified folder" and "stop processing more rules"
I specified "ECD" and clicked next.
I clicked next on the exceptions
I selected "Turn on this rule" and clicked finish.
On the Rules Wizard I clicked Ok to close
I opened Toos\Rules Wizard.
The rule that I just made specifing "through the (e-mail address removed)
move it to the ECD folder" now reads "through the (e-mail address removed) move it to
the ECD folder"

I did this with all five of my accounts. They all came back saying
"through the (e-mail address removed) move it to the shanemccook folder"
"through the (e-mail address removed) move it to the ECD folder"
"through the (e-mail address removed) move it to the shane.is.root folder"
"through the (e-mail address removed) move it to the FXManVA folder"

The only rule that stayed correct was:
"through the (e-mail address removed) move it to the FXMan27 folder"
