Outlook 2002 hangs when opening email attachments

When you either try to email with an attachment or open
an attachment to an email Outlook hangs and has to be
crashed. Only way back is to repair with disc in
Add/remove programs Windows XP Pro. Then open up Outlook -
still hangs - crash again - then opens up in safe mode -
still hangs - crash again - open up again and normally
the EULA agreement needs agreeing THEN IT WORKS FOR THE
REST OF THE DAY !!! what is causing this?????????????

I'd say M$ is causing this...

Personally, I'd say you're best bet is to remove office
completely and clean up the machine, removing any Office
residue, registry entries etc., re-install and then update
with the appropriate Service Packs. Although I have to say
I run my Office XP Service Pack less because I find it
more stable that way.

Office XP has proved itself to be the least stable of all
Office versions I've ever used sadly, and certainly for
critical usage I'd use 2000 or even go back to 97. Let's
face throughout all Office versions the same bugs exist
and never get fixed.
