Outlook 2002 address book

I am trying to tell Outlook 2002 to use my contact list
as an address book. I right click the contact folder and
bring up a sub-menu where I select properties. Then I
click the 'Outlook Address Book' tab. The contacts
properties appear and there is a box that needs to be
checked to perform the task I need. BUT the box is greyed
out and not accessible.
How do I access this box.
I am running Windows XP (Home).
Single (home) user and I assume I have full
administrative funciionality although I do not know how
to verify this.
Any help would be appreciated. .... Thanks all
