OUTLOOK 2000

I bought a new HP laptop model #DV5-1002nr. Loaded Office 2000. All works
well except Outlook. After going through initial setup procedures, we get an
error message that says "MICROSOFT OFFICE HAS STOPPED WORKING. A problem
caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program
and notify you if a solution is available." It closes the program but does
not suggest a solution. HP help told us to go to Microsoft for help. OS is
Vista. Any suggestions?

Howdy,

Please take this with a grain of salt (until someone with a
clue responds) but...

That is a very old version of Outlook, and the newest MS OS.

Are you sure that they can be happy together?

All the best,

Hi again,

I think I had it right...

Check http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/vistaupgrade.htm for
a further explanation, but the bottom line is that it
appears you cannot run OL2000 with Vista.

All the best,
