outlook 2000 that will not stay open

Have OL2000 have had no problems until now. When I open outlook it opens
fine and the page comes up fine, but after a few seconds it closes its self
down and disappears. I don't recall doing anything that might effected OL

Does the program stay running in safe mode?

how to:
* select start > run
* type: outlook.exe /safe
* ok button

ok tried that and it would not let me do anything. said can not find

you might have to supply the drive/path to outlook in the second line.

eg. type: "c:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /safe
