Running XP with MS Office 2000 SR 1a
E-mail will not send once the Outbox folder has been opened and the
message highlighted. I can get the mail to send but have to open the
message and click the send button within the message again.
Do note I am ***not*** opening or editing the message in the Outbox,
only opening the folder and highlighting the message. When the message
header is highlighted it loses its italics and the closed envelope icon
in front of it changes to an opened icon. Again I have not opened the
message.
I have the Preview Pane turned off.
This behavior does not occurred in the Outlook 2000 installed on my
laptop using OS Win98. The e-mail/outlook settings are exactly the same.
I am aware that if a message in the Outbox is opened/edited, the Send
button within the message has to be clicked again.
This is a real hassle for I can't open the Outbox to see what messages
I've not sent yet without having to open them again and reclick the Send
button.
I can't find a way to delete the Outbox for thought this one may be
damaged. I've searched and searched the Office online knowledge base
finding no help. The Help in the actual program only gives the following:
"My messages remain in my Outbox and are not sent"
"If you open or edit a message in the Outbox, the message is not
sent.
Open the message and click Send . Messages waiting to be sent are
formatted in italics in the Outbox."
This problem occurs in my program by just opening the Outbox.
TIA.
