Outlook 2000 - Group Calendar

Betty McGehee

Has anyone had to set-up a group calendar in Outlook 2000?
I printed the " Share an Outlook 2000 Calendar using Net
Folders" instructions from the Microsoft Office web site
however, there seems to be an error in the process. It
will allow me to create the folder but, I can't seem to
share the folder? Any help with this would be appriciated.

Thanks,
Betty

I have always done this by creating a new mailbox which is a group mailbox.
Then use outlook to give users the appropriate permissions to the calendar.
From there you add the calendar to each users mailbox. It's a bit of work
to setup but it works great. You can also use this method for scheduling
resources. For example, if you want to put a calendar on a meeting room,
you can create a mailbox for the room, and then use outlook to configure it
to auto accept meeting requests. Other uses can then "invite" the meeting
room when scheduling an event. It will show it's free time and autoaccept
(book itself) if it's free.
