Outlook 2000 and XP compatability

I loaded XP with Service Pack 2 on my machine that originally came with ME.
I am using Office 2000 with Service Release 1A. All of the Office products
are running except Outlook. When Outlook starts, an alert "Runtime error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way"
occurs. I repaired and then uninstalled/installed Office. I downloaded
Service Release 1A again. All to no avail. What can be done?

Hi.

You've mistakenly posted your question in the Microsoft Access (the database
application that's part of MS Office Professional) newsgroup. Please post
your question in a more appropriate newsgroup.

But since you are using Office 2000, you really should install the other
service packs on your computer, SP-2 and SP-3, too, because these fixed a lot
of bugs -- perhaps even the one you are currently experiencing. You should
also install the latest service packs for Jet and MDAC, Jet 4.0 SP-8 and MDAC
2.8 SP-1, respectively, to avoid other problems.

HTH.
